This Department, written by one of our top contributors, John Gunnell, is about "Resto-Mod" style restorations. Traditionally, the restoration of a car involves completely disassembling and rebuilding it with either repaired original parts, good used parts that are exact matches or replacements for the originals or new parts that match or replace the originals. The restoration of a Resto-Mod follows the same tear-down/build-up process, but usually with upgrades to the mechanical systems.
